The ENL UTC manages its own admission arrangements, meaning all applications go through our dedicated team. In-year transfer requests should be made through North Lincolnshire Council. Please follow the links below to find out more.

Year 9 application process.

  1. Tour, STEM workshop and/or open event.
    Attending an open event, STEM workshop or tour of our facilities, is essential for all new applicants to discover life at the ENL UTC and what sets us apart. Please visit our events page for upcoming events, or contact l.hebblewhite@enlutc.co.uk to book a tour of our facilities
  2. Online application form.
    To apply to the ENL UTC, please follow the link below to our year 9 application form. All forms must be completed by both the prospective student and parent/carer due to the information that is required.
  3. ‘Getting to know you’ meeting.
    All applicants and parents/carers will be invited to attend a meeting. Dates to be confirmed. The meetings are informal and are designed to prepare the student for their new start in September, not to consider their place.
  4. Welcome pack and transition day.
    Following all the above, an invitation to a transition day and parents information evening will be sent out. All applicants will also receive a digital welcome pack containing everything needed for their new start.

Closing date.
The closing dates for all applications will be Tuesday 1st June 2021, in order to ensure there is sufficient planning time for the new academic year.

  1. Online application form.
    To apply for a place at the ENL UTC sixth form, please follow the link below to our year 12 application form. All forms must be completed by both the prospective student and parent/carer due to the information that is required.
  2. ‘Getting to know you’ meeting.
    Following completion of the online application form, all applicants will be invited to attend a ‘Getting to know you’ meeting with the Head of Sixth Form. These meetings are informal and are designed to discuss the most suitable pathway for the applicant.
  3. Welcome pack.
    Following a meeting with the Head of Sixth Form, applicants will receive a conditional offer alongside a welcome pack, containing everything needed for their new start.

The closing dates for all applications will be Tuesday 1st June 2020, in order to ensure there is sufficient planning time for the new academic year.

Year 12 Application Process

Entry requirements.

Year 9

  • Engineering UTC Northern Lincolnshire is a non-selective educational provider, which means all applicants will be considered fairly through a transparent process. Students should have a genuine interest in STEM subjects, and an aptitude for technical, and academic modes of study.

Year 12
Please note that we are flexible on sixth form pathway routes and are happy to discuss the best option for you, regardless of GCSE results.

  • Apprenticeships Progression Pathway- Up to four, 4-9 GCSE grades. Both GCSE Maths and English resits will be taught alongside this Level 2 certificate if not achieved at KS4. This one year course is a pathway to achieve other qualifications, whether vocational or academic.
  • Level 3 pathway- Five, 4-9 GCSE grades. If five GCSE’s are achieved but not English or Maths, resit options are available as part of the two year Level 3 course.
