Exam Invigilator

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Salary: £10.87 per hour
  • Closing date: Monday 18th March at 9am

We are looking to recruit exam invigilators for our forthcoming exam periods mainly during May and June, although you may be called upon to assist at other times of the year. These appointments are offered on a casual basis, if appointed, you will join a bank of exam invigilators and the hours will be flexible.

This role is essential to the smooth running of the examination process. In addition to ensuring correct exam procedures are followed, the successful applicants will be responsible for the setting out and collecting of exam papers and materials, admitting students to the exam hall/room, invigilating during the exams and collating the exam papers to be sent off to the exam boards. Occasionally invigilators may be called upon to read/scribe for individual students.

Full training will be given to successful applicants.

Head of Sixth Form

This is a unique opportunity to teach within a University Technical College, as school for 13-19 year olds specialising in Engineering and Technology.

We are looking to recruit a Head of Sixth Form for our upcoming academic year. An excellent knowledge and understanding of Engineering or Design Technology is essential. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students. Applications are invited from both newly qualified and experienced professionals, as well as people with industry experience.

You will be responsible for leading a small Sixth Form (currently 40 students) and will work closely with the Head of School and Principal (Chief Exec) in supporting the strategic vision for the UTC.

Engineering UTC is a 13-19 school (PAN 600) in Scunthorpe town centre which is supported by an impressive list of local, regional, national and multi-national companies; the University of Hull is the lead educational supporter of the UTC.

The curriculum and facilities are designed to meet the needs of our local engineering industry. As well as providing students with high levels of technical skills, Engineering underpins the learning in the main STEM subjects (Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science), with English providing our Engineers with the communication and interpersonal skills our local business partners require.

The UTC curriculum and ethos enables students to become confident and independent through active and experiential learning. The UTC day mirrors that of the workplace, and we have created a high level engineering professional environment. Relationships are at the heart of everything we do.
