The aims of our curriculum are to develop the invaluable knowledge, skills, confidence and understanding employers are looking for in their future workforce. Providing unique opportunities within STEM fields, enables our young people to get ahead of the competition by developing the ‘character’ to succeed in their chosen career. Our industry partners, through participation and investment in the ENL UTC, directly influence the calibre of UTC graduates, both in terms of quality of skills entering the market and the number of young individuals that aspire to enter industry.

My week of work.

Virtual work experience.

June is traditionally the time of year when many students across the country would take part in work experience. During this unprecedented time, My Week of Work, Oak National Academy and Learn Live are bringing a week of virtual programmes to ensure students still experience the link to the workplace whilst in year 10.

‘My Week of Work’ comprises of 20 lessons with businesses from around the country, and will provide an insight into the world of work through employer videos and resources. There will also be tasks set for individuals to complete each day to develop and showcase employability skills.

Lessons start at 9am and will run daily from Monday 8th to Friday 12th June. All ENL UTC students will have been invited to a Microsoft Teams group containing further details.

STEM-related summer internships.

Live and online.

Invest In Education, are delighted to offer STEM-related summer internships in seven different industries, ‘Live & Online’ throughout July and August for students aged 15-18. These four day internships can help you to gain invaluable summer work experience from the comfort of your own home in engineering, computer science, architecture, entrepreneurship, investment banking, medicine and psychology.
