ENL UTC Employees Shortlisted Twice in 2021 Tes Awards

Pioneers, passionate educators and persistent campaigners are among the extraordinary education talent honoured each year at the Tes Schools Awards, one of the biggest nights in the UK education calendar. Those schools that have made it onto the 2021 shortlist have been revealed with Engineering UTC Northern Lincolnshire featuring twice for 2 separate nominations.

After the year it has been for anyone and everyone in education, to be on this year’s shortlist is a huge achievement, showcasing the very best of what the UK education sector has to offer and ENL UTC could not be prouder of its employees for the hard work they have done over the past year to not only manage the business aspect of running a school but to continue to support our students in the best possible way.

 

The nominations are:

New Teacher of the Year

Zoe Hennchen – Engineering UTC Northern Lincolnshire

Zoe Hennchen, nominated for new teacher of the year at Tes award 2021 said “I was delighted when I was told that I had been nominated by the ENLUTC for the ‘New Teacher of the Year Award’ category for the 2021 TES Awards, but to find that I had been shortlisted for the national award was a huge surprise!

 

“I was very proud to have completed my teacher training course at the ENLUTC, and the support and mentorship that I have received along the way has been second to none.

 

“Alongside teaching both Science and Engineering, I have been involved with many exciting projects and opportunities alongside our students, which only a University Technical College can offer. I am hugely grateful to my colleagues who nominated me and also our wonderful students, who have truly inspired my journey as a new teacher.”

 

School Business Leader of the Year

Joanne Wilby – Engineering UTC Northern Lincolnshire

Joanne Wilby, Business Manager at ENL UTC said “I was absolutely thrilled to learn that I had been shortlisted as a school business leader of the year finalist in this year’s TES Awards.   Just to be nominated by the Engineering UTC Northern Lincolnshire was an honour.

 

“To me I have just been doing my job, but to receive recognition for the hard work and effort I have put in to transforming our business, finance and HR functions was amazing.  Whilst I don’t work with students directly, they are at the heart of everything I do; ensuring our finances, staffing and resources are targeted effectively, to ensure they can receive the best educational opportunities possible, is what drives me to do my very best every day.”
